Artist Endeavors 2010

Attention Seeker, Horse Portrait

I am a graphite artist specializing in drawing the equine form and spirit. The horse in all of its uniqueness is my passion. This year, I’ve already taken large steps to begin my career as a full time artist. My upcoming art venues for 2010 are in the works and I’ve listed them below:

“Things with Wings” Open Art Gallery, June 1st-30th 2010 at the Vogt Visual Arts Center in Tinley Park, Illinois. I will be displaying artwork with the theme of “Pegasus”

“Brookfield Arts Festival” Saturday July 10th and Sunday July 11th 2010. This is an art festival of 30+ artists literally right outside my front porch. This will be my first true art fair, and I’m really looking forward to it! I hope to see family, friends, future friends, and many more there!

“Ex Arte Equinus 4″ International Equine Art Competition. This is an art competition from “Art Horse Magazine”, and I hope to submit 3-4 of my equine artworks by October 2010.

I have a busy year this year, and I’m working hard in creating works of art to display and sell throughout this year.

I’ve also donated a few of my equine artworks to Amanda’s Foundered Friends: Horse and Equine Rescue. All proceeds have or will benefit the organization. I allot a certain number of artworks each month to go to the rescue exclusively to raise money for horses and other equines in need. www.amandasfounderedfriends.org

A busy art year indeed!

About dlysons

With a passion for horses, I strive to always capture their beautiful power in my artwork. For as long as I can remember it seems I've had a pencil in hand in ready to realize my inspirations and visions on sketch paper. First and foremost I will always be an equine artist, but I do have a love for nature, wild animals, and domestic animals alike! My mom always said I should be a vet! As much as that may have appealed to me when I was young, instead I followed my wayward soul to wherever it led me, and finally I realize I never had to search in the first place. It was always there, waiting under the surface. I am an artist. Now into the future I will always seek to improve myself as an artist, and draw my passions. It is my hope that others will see the passion, the beauty and the spirit in my work and wish to have a piece of it in their home or place of business.
